Actualidad institucional y económica de España en el marco de la Unión Europea (febrero de 2025)
Abstract
The second half of 2024 marked a pivotal period for the European Union (EU) in both political and economic realms. The configuration of the new European Parliament and Commission set a renewed agenda focused on sustainability, social cohesion, and digital transition. Hungary, holding the rotating presidency of the EU Council, has spearheaded initiatives aimed at reducing regional disparities, enhancing digital connectivity, and addressing food security amidst global uncertainties. Key milestones include progress in the accession process of Ukraine and Moldova, solidifying their integration into the European bloc. Additionally, the EU has strengthened its international relations through strategic agreements in Africa and Central Asia, while its climate leadership was showcased at the Brussels Climate Summit, where ambitious carbon reduction goals were established. These actions underscore the EU's commitment to sustainable development, energy security, and global economic integration.
